About Mike Browning Michael Browning joined Toledo, Ohio-based ProMedica as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in August of 2016. In this role, Browning is responsible for the overall financial leadership of ProMedica including accounting, financial planning, revenue cycle, managed care, reimbursement, treasury, internal audit, supply chain management, process improvement and financing. During Browning’s tenure at ProMedica the organization improved Operating Income by more than $68 million through both the revenue realization and cost reduction initiatives. During this same time period, the organization has grown its annual revenue from $3.1 billion to over $6.7 billion. This growth was achieved through internal initiatives and acquisitions of a diverse portfolio of operating assets. The assets that were acquired by ProMedica include one of the largest post-acute care companies in the United States as well as a dental Insurance organization and a collections company. To facilitate these acquisitions, Browning completed a debt strategy that included the issuance of nearly $1.5 billion of taxable and tax-exempt debt. Browning is also contributing his business expertise beyond ProMedica as a member of the 2018 Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees. 

 Mr. Browning has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare finance and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Prior to ProMedica, Browning was executive vice president and CFO of WakeMed in Raleigh, North Carolina, a complex safety net health system. Browning holds an MBA from the University of Louisville and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Kentucky Wesleyan College.
