Prior to IPGP I worked for Conoco (UK) Ltd, then a subsidiary of E.I. du Pont Du Nemours and Company and after that for a trading company in London. While working for Conoco I qualified as a Chartered Accountant and I am a proud member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts Scotland. I was born in Kenya where I lived until I was 16. I now live in Rhode Island. I was educated in Kenya at the Banda School and in England where I went to Winchester College and then the London School of Economics and Political Science. At IPGP I am responsible for all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, taxation, risk management and investor relations. Together, Dr. Gapontsev, the CEO and founder of IPG, and I have conducted over 50 earnings calls. I am a very avid golfer. In 2003, I fulfilled a childhood dream of entering the Safari Rally in Kenya when, on its 50th anniversary, it was run as the East African Safari Rally Classic. We bought an old (1968) Datsun 1600 SSS, built it into a rally car and entered it in the 10-day event through Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania finishing 11th and as Class Winners. I have now down the event 6 times finishing on 5 occasions and winning Class honours again in 2017. IPG Photonics is the world leader in fiber laser technology, enabling greater precision, higher productivity and more flexible production for industrial applications and other diverse end markets.
