Björn Annwall joined the Volvo Cars executive management team in 2015 as Senior Vice President Marketing, Sales and Service. In April 2019 he took over as head of the EMEA sales region, the company’s largest, which is spearheading its commercial strategy of growing through electrification and online.
During Björn’s tenure, Volvo Cars’ market share in the EMEA region increased markedly, thanks to strong sales of electrified models and a ramp up of online sales together with its retail partners. Prior to joining Volvo Cars, Björn was a partner at McKinsey & Co, the global management consultancy firm. Here he worked closely with Volvo Cars for five years, implementing a global transformation programme following its acquisition by Zhejiang Geely Holding in 2010. Björn holds a master’s degree in business and economics from the Stockholm School of Economics.
